Milking it: new products in the dairy market

Food Science Central has teamed up with Mintel's Global New Products Database (GNPD) to keep you up to date on new food products available around the world. This month, we take a look at new products available in the dairy market.

Americas

Pasteurizadora Maulec has launched Fórmula Láctea Entera (Whole Lactose Formula) onto the Argentinean market under the Tamariz brand. It is a shelf-stable product packaged in a Tetra Brik aseptic carton, and contains skimmed milk, whey protein concentrate and vegetable fat. Old Home Foods, meanwhile, have released several new varieties of Old Home Light Yogurt Smoothies in the USA. The product is now available in strawberry, cherry, mixed berry, strawberry banana and raspberry flavours, all of which are fat-free and are fortified with vitamins and minerals.


Europe

In Germany, Jermi-Käsewerk has introduced a new variety to its range of Jermi Käsería cheeses. Schinken Räucher smoked ham cheese is a sliced cheese and is said to have been made to an improved recipe. It is available in a 250g resealable stay-fresh box. In Italy, Centrale del Latte Torino has produced Tapporosso Latte Fresco Alta Qualita Milk, a full cream, pasteurized, homogenized fresh milk product sold in a glass bottle.

Asia

Calpis has launched Rasa Mangga mango flavoured milk drink onto the Malaysian market under the Calpico brand. It is described as a fermented milk drink with a mango flavour and has been supplemented with calcium. Hoang Ngoc has produced a full cream milk powder to be marketed under the TiTigo brand. This milk powder is shelf-stable, is packaged in a 500g plastic pack and is said to be sugar-free.
